Blocking variations on 234/236

Okay so, I've had a few questions about the blocking rules for 234/236 and why it's checked at the line.

234- the SG and ST - over, inside.
236- 5 technique- SG and SE double team the 5 and the HB Kicksout the first to show.

Hopes this helps guys.

  1. What if there's a 3 and a 5 tech, as in a 4-4 split front, with the Strong OLB walked up in a 9. Is there a 232 call for this? I'm new to the slot t, so pardon my ignorance.

    1. Coach, not ignorance i should have been a bit more clear, my apologies. In terms of a 3 tech the guard has that guy one on one. with a 5 and 9 the play will be ran as 236 with the Strongend and Strong tackle will double the 5, and the HB will kickout the 9. If your Strongguard cant handle the 3 for just a few seconds then you're in for a long night.

Sorry it took so long to reply, im new to the technology. Hope this helps!
