234/236

The first play that i will be discussing is the Fullback power play. This is one of the simplest plays because the footwork is real simple, but the play can be and is deadly if executed properly.

What makes this play hard to defend is the ability to change it at the line. When you call this play it's actually two plays. When the QB gets to the line he looks at the 5 technique. If there is one then the play is changed to 236 via the snap count. If there ain't anyone in the 5 tech then he runs 234.

If there is a defender in the 5 technique then the Strong end and the Strong tackle double team him and the Halfback kicks out the first person past the Strong end.

If there ain't anyone in the 5 tech then the Strong tackle and Strong guard double team and the Strong end blocks base. The HB leads through the 4 hole and blocks LB.

The entire Quick side of the line scoop and then throw down field.

  1. Phillip thanks for posting this is a great look at the basics of the offense. Looking forward to the blocking info you mentioned. Any specific adjustments you think are important to make 234/236 go. What are the most common adjustments you have used? Thanks again
